Chocó Palm Tree 2
Buttresses
Short
Description
In this series, I dedicated my time to portraying different jungle landscapes in one, if not the most, humid rainforest jungles in the world… The Chocó region in Colombia is located between the Pacific Ocean and the tropical Andes mountain range. In June 2024 I spent two weeks in that region taking inspiration from the virgin forest, its vegetation, and the animals living there. At night you can see the bioluminescence phenomena on the tree barks, the jungle floor, the giant fireflies, and the fungi and lichens everywhere. Nature is in full display! This is another common palm tree found in the jungle there. It has buttresses that help maintain the long stalk stabilized and firmly rooted.
(2024) - 60 cm x 80 cm.
