Fluid topo-spacescape
In memory of Dad
Short
Description
My first of only attempts (so far) at fluid art. Not my favorite technique, however I have to confess I had a lot of fun making this one. I used a very special piece of wood to paint this fluid “topography” scene. My dad had for years saved that small wood board to make a sign for his new house in the countryside, where he wanted to spend his last years. He died before he could fulfill that dream. On that piece of wood he made a draft of the name of the house: La Montañita (The little hill). I decided to paint on top since that dream had ended. And the result is this abstract dual topography-spacescape. When you shine UV lights on it, it becomes a Nebulae which was my dad’s main hobby… Astronomy. I sold this painting to my good friend Rachel C. from Charlotte NC, when she visited during the year of the pandemic.
