Frigate Birds 2
Females fighting while flying

Short
Description
For my undergrad research thesis I chose to study these beautiful birds. I spent one whole year living by myself on a small Caribbean Island, during 1987, studying their behavior. Ever since, I have had an emotional attachment with the species. One, if not the most accomplished flying machine in nature. They are quite big, sometimes larger than 2 m (6 ft) in wingspan, they cannot get wet, and for that reason they survive by stealing food from other birds, instead of taking fish from the ocean directly. That behavior is called Kleptoparasitisim and it is a rare and complicated way of making a living by stealing from others. Just like our politicians. 🤭
