Laniakea Orange
A flock of galaxies

Short
Description
This painting was done in 2019 with the same intention of portraying abstract galaxies moving towards an imaginary gravity center called The Great Attractor of the supercuster Laniakea (always in the left direction of the canvas). In my creative process, galaxies have become also birds by now, a group of animals that always interested me as a Marine Biologist. In fact, may undergrad dissertation thesis back in the 1980s was about a group of marine birds that I studied for 2 years in a small caribbean Island called Isla Fuerte, off the coast of Colombia: Frigate birds (Fregata magnificens. Mathews, 1914). I have painted them many times before. In this case they are not frigate birds but more like colorful orange macaws, flying over an imaginary purple sunset.
(2019) - 30cm x 200cm.
