Laniakea Rainbow
Closing in the great attractor
Short
Description
This is to me the last true Laniakea painting from my collection. I have been fascinated with that celestial structure for years and in order to close that cycle in my art process I decided to portrait the supercluster as Astronomers depict it in their computer simulations. Many (millions) galaxies are all being pulled to a mysterious singularity they call The Great Attractor. In this case I used a small shell from a collection that my mom had to symbolize the attractor. all the galaxy birds are flying in the direction of that small shell that you can only see if you get very close to the canvas. I also made a myriad of small holes in the canvas and then used LED lights from behind to mimic stars. This is a very colorful art canvas composition.
