Medújaros & Pajarusas
Superclusters on the move
Short
Description
The name of this painting is a combination of two Spanish words: Medusas (jellyfish) and Pájaros (birds). When you shine a UV light on it, you can see the playful medusae I did put next to the abstract birds flying towards certain invisible ‘attraction centers’ in each colored superstructure. In big galaxy superclusters like Laniakea, those places are called Great Attractors and nobody knows what exactly is there and how massive they are. All astronomers know, is that all the galaxies in a supercluster are moving in that direction. Big mystery.
